ABSTRACT
The article reports that Australia's four petroleum refining companies are taking their turn fronting Australia's competition watchdog over allegations of price gouging just in time for a federal election. There have already been 44 governmental investigations into the petroleum industry. At issue is whether the prices at Australian gasoline stations are really a reflection of open competition as the industry claims.
