ABSTRACT
The article highlights the views of Republican Representative Mark Kirk of Illinois on a resolution labeling the slaughter of Armenians during World War I as genocide. He cites that for more than 90 years, Armenians were denied recognition for the genocide that occurred in 1915. He argues that the massacre of over 1.5 million ethnic Armenians by the Ottoman Turks can be described as genocide.
