ABSTRACT
The article presents information on various developments concerning the chemical industry. A fire at a chemical storage facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has been brought under control. Russian holding company Renova Orgsintez plans to buy a controlling stake in Khimprom Novocheboksarsk, a chemical producer. Punjab Chemicals and Crop Protection Ltd. has agreed to buy Dutch herbicide, insecticide and fungicide manufacturer Pegevo Beheer for $54.1 million.
