ABSTRACT
The article discusses the benefits of business performance management (BPM) software to medium sized and smaller companies. BPM system allows Shur-Co., a manufacturing business, to expedite budgeting process. Its BPM facilitates smooth flow of data from its central enterprise resource planning system to Excel spreadsheets. The company is also planning to develop a four dimensional sales model that will enable sales people to thoroughly analyze customer demand. Another company, SourceForge, uses the Adaptive Planning system to gain greater flexibility in manipulating spreadsheets and financial reports.
