ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the reports of the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry that U.S. polyurethane (PU) production slipped 3.4 percent from 2004 to 2006 due to various factors such as imports, slumping automotive output and Hurricane Katrina. According to the reports, Canadian PU production also fell one percent, whereas Mexico continues to turn into a low-cost base for many industries.
