ABSTRACT
The article offers information on some of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the U.S. In 2000 the dot-com bubble helped Larry Ellison add $54 billion to his fortune, giving him the largest one-year gain in the history of The Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans, but lost much of it the following year. Roland Arnall lost $1.5 billion as lawsuits and the subprime lending meltdown wrecked his Ameriquest mortgage operation. John Abele lost $600 million in 2007.
