ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Reliance Industries to select the Unipol process of Dow Chemical for polypropylene production at its Jamnagar special economic zone in India. The production of polypropylene by Reliance is set to start by December 2008. The Jamnagar facility is intended to generate a full range of homopolymers to be supplied to Asian markets. The Unipol process was proposed for use in the mono ethylene glycol plant of IOC yet was cancelled due to Dow's alleged connections with Union Carbide.
