ABSTRACT
The article discusses the importance of automation on mass production cutting which can be done by installing an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS), such as KASTO-Racine Inc.'s Sawing Center in the U.S. It is emphasized that KASTO's Sawing Center is composed of an AS/RS to store the needed material quantities; saws; computer system to control the entire installation; and a sorting unit.
