ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the international steel production in August 2007 as reported by the International Iron and Steel Institute in Brussels, Belgium. The August world crude steel production of 67 countries increased to 5.3% with 108.1 million metric tons compared to August 2006. The Chinese production jumped to 13.6% while North American production rose to 3.5%. Germany produced 4.0 million tons, the largest crude steel production in European Union, while France generated 1.2 million tons.
