Universal pays $1.65M for Pa. House name

The article reports that Universal Furniture Ltd. has completed its purchase of the Pennsylvania House Inc. name and related assets from La-Z-Boy Inc. for $1.65 million. According to La-Z-Boy it will take pre-tax charges of around $600,000 related to the trade name and another $3 million to $4 million for the inventory. Universal Chief Executive Officer Randy Chrisley says his company will reintroduce collections under the brand at the spring 2008 High Point Market.
