David Elkind and the Crisis of Adolescence: Review, Critique, and Applications

The article discusses a study made by psychologist David Elkind regarding the crisis of adolescence. The author said that adolescence research has challenged both practitioners and researchers, and likewise added that Elkind's study of adolescence has prompted researchers to review, analyze and examines the potential applications of his study. An overview of the review, critique and potential of Elkind's view on adolescence behavior and preparedness is offered. The author noted that Elkind believes that adolescence are required to accomplish unrealistic societal expectations to accept roles and responsibilities before they are ready to accept such obligations.
