ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the evolution of technology solutions as an equalizer in the hospitality industry. Hotel brands used to dominate the hospitality market but Internet and high-technologies allowed independent hotels to compete with them. Private equity companies are investing in underperforming hotel assets and improve them through application of technology and merchandising practices.
