ABSTRACT
The article challenges the popular belief that efficient fluid power systems were borne out of pumps and engines. It states the development of a verifiable mathematical model that demonstrates efficiency improvements of between 10 and 25 percent. The development is useful for hydraulically driven mobile equipment. The key to success of RohMax Oil Additives, part of Evonik Industries' Specialty Acrylics business, was demonstrating the value of its inventions to customers.
