The article emphasizes the importance of innovation as a key strategic weapon in the business sector. In-field players, such as BASF Corp., Dow Corning Corp., Evonik Industries, etc., have been tackling this issue from various fronts, including incubators, venture funding etc. These companies are identifying societal trends and emerging technology areas early on and then building capability and expertise. Innovation is a complex activity to manage and requires an integrated approach.
