ABSTRACT
The author reports on the popularity of the teen pop star Destiny Hope Cyrus, who is better known as Hannah Montana. Montana stars in the television program "Hannah Montana" and goes on tour as a singer. The article credits the success of Hannah Montana, which includes the character and merchandise, to the relationship between the Disney Company and the Cyrus family. A subculture surrounding the character of Hannah which was created by Disney is mentioned.
