ABSTRACT
The article reports on the earnings per diluted share of Eastman Chemical Co. in the second quarter of 2007. During the period, the firm announced $1.22 earnings per diluted share compared with $1.37 in the same quarter in 2006. Contract ethylene sales resulting from the fourth-quarter 2006 divestiture of the polyethylene business is included in sales revenue for the second quarter. CEO Brian Ferguson predicts a solid financial results in all segments of the company in the third quarter of 2007.
