ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in sales and earnings of specialty chemicals company Altana AG in the first six months of 2007 compared to 2006. The growth rate of its operating sales was 9% while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 22%. The four divisions of the firm has contributed to its growth, including BYK Additives & Instruments and Eckart Effect Pigments. Also cited is the comment of CEO Doctor Matthias Wolfgruber on their performance.
