ABSTRACT
The article looks at the developments in the technology of power-over-fiber. Photonic power delivery provides several advantages for various applications, but it requires accepting lower efficiency and limited power levels. Features of optical fibers include less signal degradation and flexibility. Solar cells supply power to remote equipment that is far from power lines.
