The article offers effective strategies for reducing the SAS 70 audits, HIPAA requirements and other industry-specific internal control audits in the U.S. It notes that audit costs increase due to time needed for document retrieval and validation, however, much of this work can be conducted before the audit through an audit preparedness assessment.
