The article focuses on a diagnosis of a premature female infant with respiratory distress syndrome and patent ductus arteriosus. Electrocardiography indicated a pattern of left ventricular hypertrophy or atrial infarction. The echocardiogram affirmed the left ventricular hypertrophy, and disclosed two hyper-echogenic left atrial masses, one located close to the posterior mitral valve leaflet and the other in correspondence of the atrial roof.

Introduction: Cardiology has been one of the most important areas of medicine. For several applications to diagnose the heart functions diseases the measurement of left ventricular (LV) cavity area and LV fractional area change are of vital necessity. Diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is primarily based on measurements of R- and S-waves from various electrocardiographic (ECG) leads. Recent information has shown that anasarca peripheral edema (AN) (defined as fluid accumulation diagnosed by weight gain, positive fluid...

We describe a rare congenital anomaly in a 49-year-old woman who presented with palpitations and slightly reduced exercise capacity. A double-chambered left ventricle was suspected on echocardiography and confirmed by cardiac computed tomography scanning, cardiac magnet resonance imaging, and...
