ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the conflicts between sheep ranchers and wildlife advocates over efforts to establish the population of bighorn sheep around Hells Canyon, a canyon located along the border of northeastern Oregon and western Idaho. It was stated that studies have shown that bighorns cannot interact with domestic sheep because it resulted to massive death. To end the battles between ranchers and wildlife advocates and to control the population of bighorns, a federal judge has demanded the Forest Service to close several sheep allotments in the nearby Payette National Forest where ranchers graze domestic sheep near bighorns.
