ABSTRACT
The article proposes a different approach to Internet searching, which utilizes data and metadata associated with network transport of Web content. The traditional means of searching include human-powered directories, crawler-based index generation, or collaborative tagging. The proposed system would augment traditional Web crawlers to improve relevance and currency of search results. The traditional means of Web searching have become untenable as the Internet has grown exponentially in size. The author discusses the PageRank algorithm that ranks the importance of Web pages.
