Detroit Museum of New Art to Stage Its Own Biennial (We Think)

May 2004
Art Papers Magazine;May/Jun2004, Vol. 28 Issue 3, p8
The article reports on the relocation of Detroit's Museum of New Art (MONA) to smaller quarters in Pontiac, Michigan. Meanwhile, MONA has produced a list of names that reads like a roll call of all the international biennials of the twenty-first century in commemoration to its re-opening. Moreover, to keep the museum's function as something more like a conceptual art project, the biennial will consist entirely of portraits of the artists.
