ABSTRACT
The author reports on the benefits and risks of pregnant women taking antidepressants. According to the article, taking antidepressants while pregnant slightly raises the risk of babies being born with birth defects and withdrawal symptoms. Risks of not taking antidepressants are also mentioned, including having a baby be born prematurely. The author suggests that women talk to their doctors before deciding to stop taking antidepressants while pregnant.
