ABSTRACT
The article reports on the indictment of Representative William Jefferson in the U.S. He is charged with 16 counts of bribery and corruption in June 2007 and pleaded not guilty for the case, the trial is slated for January 2008. According to public records, top executives from TDC Overseas Ltd. where he allegedly influenced, received $450,000 grant from a government agency to pay for a feasibility study for the Akwa Ibom State Fertilizer Complex.
