ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Academy of Motion Pictures is revising its visual effects Oscar nomination process because of a growing number of special-effects works competing for only three Oscar nominations. According to visual effects supervisor and Academy member Kevin Rafferty, the visual effects branch steering committee will meet on December 13, 2007 to narrow the field of entries to 15 films and will vote for the three Oscar nominees on January 16, 2008.
