ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Nielsen Media Research to stop using the Hispanic Television Index (HTI), a system developed to measure the English and Spanish-language television programming that Latinos watch. HTI, which was established in 1992, was thought to be a groundbreaking development in media research in the U.S. However, with the increasing number of Hispanics, HIT might prove to be misleading.
