ABSTRACT
The article presents several news briefs related to the chemical industry. Dow Chemical Co. is worried about the U.S. housing crisis and high energy prices spilling over into consumer spending and threatening the economy. NOVA Chemicals Inc. could add a polyethylene plant in mid-2011 in Canada, which would take advantage of the country's lower feedstock costs. Dow Chemical has launched a new technology to produce bio-based polyols with a higher renewable resource content in the product.
