ABSTRACT
The article explores the implication of the discrimination provisions of the Equality Act 2006 to private sector. Establishing a single equality commission was one of the main purposes of the Equality Act 2006. Its other main focus was clearly on creating equality between men and women, but the act also makes it unlawful to discriminate against anyone on the grounds of religion or belief, or sexual orientation, in the provision of goods, facilities, services and education, or in the management, letting or sale of premises.
