ABSTRACT
The article reports that Ernest R. Thompson and J.M. Breaux of the United Steel Workers (USW) urged Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco to think twice about the ongoing expansion of neoprene production at DuPont Performance Elastomers LLC's Pontchartrain facility in LaPlace, Louisiana. By next year, DuPont Performance Elastomers plans to close its neoprene operations in Louisville, Kentucky, and consolidate all its U.S. neoprene production in LaPlace.
