Reports on SanCastle Technologies' introduction of a switch that speeds communication between Fibre Channel-based storage-area networks (SAN) by connecting them via Gigabit Ethernet local area networks. Features of the SanStorm 3000 switch includes eight Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet ports and a 16G bit/second backplane.
