Survey: Big Firms Pay Bigger Bonuses

The article reports on a survey by the Todd Organization which focused on executive compensation. The study found an association between the size of a company and the ratio of bonus to salary. An example is given for the year 2001 where chief financial officers in public companies--which had more than $250 million in annual revenues--were given an average cash bonus that was equal to 64 percent of their base salary. The median bonus for that year was 36 percent. The Todd Organization's senior vice president Ron Roth comments on factors contributing to the amount of cash bonuses.
