ABSTRACT
The article discusses the underlying factors that push employees to bypass enterprise resource planning (ERP) system which the company has spent a fortune to purchase. It relates that problems on employees bypassing ERP usually emanates with the company purchasing an enterprise system that is not suited to the specific needs of the business. Moreover, the article offers suggestions on how to purchase the right ERP system that will not slow down the business operations and eliminate mistakes caused by bypassing. Furthermore, it presents examples on how bypassing and purchasing the wrong ERP system affects the day-to-day operation of the business thereby slowing down production rates.
