IMF Offers Cancer Tips

The article reports on the new guidelines of the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) for firefighters for prevention and treatment of myeloma. Myeloma is a cancer of cells in the bone marrow in which several studies have shown firemen are at higher risk for this disease. As part of the guidelines, the IMF recommend that fire departments should review and update policies regarding personal protective equipment and fire fighters should shower as soon as they return from each fire.
