The article discusses new ways of trading paraxylene (PX) and challenges faced by existing methods of trading PX, which are resulted from the volatility in PX pricing over the years 2005-06. It is stated that some existing methods have proven to be less than satisfactory. It is also stated that one of the challenges to existing methods is against the Asian Contract Price (ACP) system, with major PX and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) producers coming to terms with the latest developments.
