ABSTRACT
The article reports on how Jeanette Cimino, director of global benefits and human resources (HR) information systems of AES Corp., applied foundation-building philosophy to health benefit plan designs and policies to her company. She said that by self-insuring, they saved on carriers' margin profits and taxes right off the bat, and that consolidation reduced administrative costs.
