ABSTRACT
The article presents information for employers on the multiple aspects of creating and maintaining a transparent, cost- efficient relationship with a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). Understanding the PBM industry can be complex and confusing, particularly when it comes to PBM contracts, although pharmacy benefit managers offer employers a valuable product. Contracts are likely to lean heavily in the favor of PBM as employers generally lack insider expertise.
