ABSTRACT
The article discusses the writing process of author Walt Whitman in the book "Leaves of Grass." His early notebooks and manuscripts are explored, including the "Talbot Wilson" notebook which is also known as "Whitman's earliest notebook." It is stated that the inaccurate dating of the notebook proves that it has been missing from 1942 to 1995 when it was stolen from the Library of Congress. The inspiration brought by his poetry and early writings to his composition of the "Leaves of Grass," is detailed.
