The article reports on the exclusive, ongoing study by Simba, of retailers in the U.S. by posing a question on how to promote a book from the standpoint of any retailer. It was found that retailers were ambivalent about the use of the Web and social networking due to the new technology and predictable customer base. Another factor is said to be print and/or radio advertising. Moreover, it was stated that the study measures the importance of frontlist books to an independent bookstore's business.
