Manufacturing's graphic base broadens in United States

The article reports on the expansion of the manufacturing base in the U.S. The largest manufacturing states in terms of sheer dollar volume of business activity in 2004 include California and Texas. It notes that manufacturing in the country would be the eighth largest economy in the world. It also notes that manufacturing makes the highest contribution to economic growth of any sector. It is also said to contribute over 60% of U.S. exports or about $50 billion a month.
