The article focuses on the first annual "Eat Smart, Get Moving" contest, sponsored by the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and National Dairy Council to encourage foodservice operators to adopt healthier habits and to serve as better role models for students. The event, which was launched at the SNA's national conference in Los Angeles, California in 2006 and culminated in July at the SNA's 2007 conference in Chicago, Illinois awarded points to approximately 100 participating teams for practicing healthy habits.
