ABSTRACT
This article discusses the efforts of semiconductor and image sensor companies to improve the photos on cameraphones. Micron announced a receiver interface for one of its mobile imaging processors designed to improve video calls over 3G networks. Texas Instruments Inc. has processors using its OMAP platform to enable high-definition video and life-like 3D graphics. OmniVision has a number of other technologies to improve cameraphone imaging, including its TrueFocus camera.
