Software defined silicon startup secures $16M in funding

The article reports that Bristol, England-based software defined silicon chip company XMOS Semiconductor has secured $16 million in a Series A of venture capital funding from Foundation Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners and DFJ Esprit. The company is touting its offering as a new category of semiconductors for consumer electronics applications that need high performance, low manufacturing cost and extreme design flexibility.
