ABSTRACT
The article reports that Taiwan-based test and assembly provider Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) Inc. is set to spend $784 million to take its majority-owned subsidiary ASE Test Ltd. private. ASE said it has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining ASE Test ordinary shares which it does not already directly or indirectly own. The proposed acquisition is also subject to certain other conditions precedent, including customary approvals and filings in Singapore, Taiwan and the United States, ASE said.
