ABSTRACT
The article emphasizes the necessity and the many benefits of genetically modified (GM) foods. It notes the importance of GM foods in relation to the increasing global population. It traces the history of engineered food. The impact of genetic engineering on pesticide use of GM farmers is discussed. It argues that there is no definitive proof that GM foods are harmful to the environment or to human health so there is no need to ban GM foods.
