ABSTRACT
The article deals with a medical mission conducted by the soldiers from the First Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army in the Karkh District of Baghdad, Iraq. The logistical support for the medical mission was provided by a civil-affairs team from the Fort Bragg, North Carolina-based Company B, 97th CA Battalion, working with Task Force 1-14 Cav. According to Major Isaac Johnson, most of the patients suffered vitamin deficiencies, malnutrition, worm infestations and rashes. He adds that ear infections are common among the children.
