ABSTRACT
The article reports that Hooker Furniture Corp.'s net income got increased in its second quarter which ended on July 29, 2007. The earnings got up by $4.9 million from $1.2 million in 2006. Chairman Paul Toms told that the operating margin of the company got improved due to their cost-cutting initiatives. He said that decrease in selling, general and administrative costs by 18.9% has contributed towards the company's profit.
