ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the imposition of carbon offsetting to U.S. companies. Companies are pressured on being environmentally responsible because of fear that environmental regulation might call their attention. In areas where reduction of emission is impossible, they are usually advised to invest in verified emission reduction (VER) projects. Lawrence Hunt, chief executive officer at Silverjet airline, states that carbon offsetting is a practical step to take as of the time being.
