ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a series of crash tests conducted by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) on bumpers of luxury cars. The series of crash tests was designed to assess and measure the capacity of bumpers of expensive cars to resist damage in low-speed impacts. Moreover, IIHS Senior Vice President Joe Nolan related that the results indicated inherent design flaws in the vehicles making their bumpers less effective.
