The article discusses the use of digital check scanners by grocery store Jimmy's GK Food Mart. Store manager Sameet Patel was prompted to install digital check scanners after being a victim of check fraud. The store uses i6090 Check Scanner and i6000 Internet Client software to eliminate the need for storing checks and identify fake checks. Better known as Check 21, the solution allows retailers to scan checks as soon as they are received and transmit data and images electronically to banks for same-day processing.
